Elementary Explorers – Mythical Sea Creatures – FULL

Elementary Explorers – Mythical Sea Creatures – FULL

*This program is full, and registration is now closed. However, there is a family movie on Thursday morning, a petting zoo next Thursday, and the Elementary Explorers program next week still has a few openings.

Kids aged 6-10 are invited to join us every Friday at 10:30am during Summer Reading for fun hands-on activities, ranging from arts & crafts to science experiments! We’ll start off each session with a brief booktalk and discussion of what we’ve been reading.

This week we’ll learn a little about the legends of mermaids and sea monsters, and the real life animals that likely inspired them, then make a crown and trident fit for a mermaid princess or King Triton himself, along with a paper-chain sea serpent. While supplies last, limited to 36. Kids must be accompanied by a responsible adult, who must remain in the building for the duration of the program.

While we understand families may have children of multiple age ranges, and that you may have to bring younger siblings along, please understand that these activities are intended for and will be limited to children of the designated ages of 6-10 years only due to safety reasons, limited materials, and high demand. Feel free to bring some board books into the program room or play with developmentally appropriate sensory toys that will be made available. We offer programs for toddlers on Tuesdays @ 10:30, preschool/kindergartners on Wednesday @ 10:30, and family programs on Thursdays at varied time.

Registration required, limited to 36. Registration is now CLOSED.
